RIZE Massachusetts, a nonprofit dedicated to fighting the opioid epidemic, will provide six $100,000 grants to community projects across Massachusetts. Grants will go to Berkshire Harm Reduction in Pittsfield, Brockton Neighborhood Health Center, the Grayken Center for Addiction at Boston Medical Center, North Suffolk Mental Health Association in Chelsea, St. Francis House in Boston and South Shore Health in Weymouth. Brockton Neighborhood Health Center will use the grant money to expand its drug checking services to better understand the expectations of Black, Indigenous and people of color who use drugs and explore the relationship between drug checking and medical care.
